the chair in the shower, the pot that burns and the egg that broke

Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the pot. But imagine if you can, a smallish pot, that sits unevenly on the stove and has a particular hot spot where things always start to burn if I don't keep an eye on it. This weekend, it was tea. How does one burn tea, I can hear you asking. Well, it's easy when a teabag is sitting in the water with the tag hanging over the side. Hanging low enough, it will catch fire on the burner. Note to self...this is a fire hazard.
This weekend mom flew out from the 'wack and Chris drove up from Calgary. There's sure to be laughs when the LaRoy's get together. We were having Krista and Bryce over for dinner on Saturday night and of course I didn't have enough chairs for everyone. My mom suggested we use the chair sitting in my landlord's backyard. Good idea mom, except that it's covered in snow and ice. Well, we didn't have any other brilliant ideas so we resorted to hauling the chair downstairs and into my shower to "clean up". Or rather for the ice to have a place to melt. A towel to put the chair on and towel on the seat for me to sit on and we had ourselves one uncomfortable but needed 5th chair. In the process of making Chris a birthday cake mom dropped an egg on the ground (I mean...the egg rolled off the counter?) which I just had to take a picture of. Those were only a few of our adventures. I also didn't realize how often one uses a microwave until mom was here and we kept thinking.."oh we'll just heat it up in the micro"..oh wait! DON'T HAVE A MICROWAVE! Oh, and the hot bedroom/icicle room (jen can you shut the vent, open the window, open the vent, close the window) and deflating mattress. Oh wow..thanks for the laughs at 3:30 in the morning mom. I am still giggling about that even now!
