Shuswappin'

This past weekend was one rainy weekend in Shuswap...but the rain produced some good memories so I'm definitely not complaining! Some friends (Jamie, Vicky & Chris, Vicki & Ethan and Ben) and I went to Scotch Creek where Jamie's parent's have a cabin. We had a great time playing a lot of games and playing outdoors. We had a few hours on Saturday that were sunny and warm which we spent at the beach and after that it pretty much rained the whole time. It was good to get away one LAST time before starting the final stretch of my life as a student. Here are a few of the fun times we had at the cabin.... Above: Vicki, Ben and Chris having a donut eating contest. Without the guys knowing, Vicki ripped hers in half, threw half of it away and proceeded to stuff the other half in her mouth. She would have won to if she hadn't spit the rest of it the sink while the guys were trying to finish their donuts (they heard her)...it was a good plan Vicki! Above: playing bocce in the rain. You can't tell in this picture but by the end it was raining pretty hard. Jamie and I were partners and didn't fare so well but it was still a good game. After this, we played mud football and got even more soaked. That was one of the highlights of the weekend for me :) I love playing in the rain!!
This is us (minus Vicky who was taking pictures of us but who did join us after) swimming in the rain, in our clothes. Someone had the brilliant idea of going swimming after football considering we were already soaked! The water was so warm and it was so peaceful...we were the only ones in the water! Oh yeah, Morgan joined us on Saturday and stayed until Sunday evening. She's the one in the middle of this picture. Ethan and Vicki were waiting for us back at the cabin.
The aftermath of swimming with our clothes on. Wet. Very very wet.

I don't remember which game we were playing here. But I'm sure I won. Hey Jon...if you're reading this (which you probably aren't, but Bonnie can pass this on to you), do you notice my 99 cent arizona can there? It was delicious!
Jamie, Ben and Chris decided to race to the store in the rain on the old rickity (I mean brand new) bikes. This was what they looked like when they returned. Mud stained bum's. Cute guys.
I guess this picture should have been first...all geared up and ready to rock. I don't know who won the race. It probably had to do with who had the crappiest bike....
So that's a summary of our weekend in the Shuswap. This is the second year we've gone up and it's proven to always be a good time. Now, I'm off to Edmonton with a stop in Merritt and a stop in Calgary along the way. I'm going to visit and old friend in Calgary (and my bro) and then I have to move into my new place before school starts next week. Thanks to all my family and friends for a great August....I'll see you at Christmas!

Yeah I'd say football was one of my highlights too, especially because we kicked butt. Anyways, I hope you had a good drive back, have fun settling in with the new roomie and going to school and whatnot. Peace out.

Hahaha, that looked like a pretty sweet weekend! And glad to hear the "brand new bikes" joke is making it outside the family! Aw, I miss the cabin. Have fun settling in, and starting the grind all over again!

Hey Jen, great pictures of good memories I'm sure. Reminds me of the grad trip to Haley's cabin at Shuswap...bocce, games, food and oh ya, the brutal van ride with Carsten. see ya.
