This is the first September in a long time that I haven't been sitting in a classroom somewhere madly scribbling notes in order to capture all the wise words of a prof. And it feels good! Granted, I'm not fully done school yet but being on placement (THE LAST ONE!) is a heck of a lot better than being in a stuffy classroom.
I've been in Red Deer since last Monday and I can't believe that I'm already into my second week of placement here. I'm doing private practice (orthopedics/MSK) and it's been so much fun already! I'm learning a lot, getting to do a lot (most everything) on my own and stepping outside my comfort zone! My clinical instructor is absolutely wonderful! She is a very refreshing person, very honest to her values and has taught me a lot in the short time I have worked with her. She's a yoga instructor as well so I've definitely been learning some great stretches and she's going to give a personal, one-on-one session next week! In previous placements I've always been fairly apprehensive and nervous from day-to-day but not this time! I love going and I always know it's going to be a great day! PLUS...I've basically been offered a job there already :) I don't want to live in Red Deer but the fact that they would have no problem hiring me is a confidence booster!
In other news, my written national exam is coming up on Sunday. I cannot believe it's so soon...I have some serious studying (okay...cramming) left to do in the next few days! I would appreciate prayer over these next days to come!

It truly does my heart good to hear that you are enjoying placement so much. I remember your apprehensive feelings in the past and its so refreshing to hear that things are different this time around. DEFINITELY praying for you this week and especially on Sunday! Hang in there beautiful... you're almost at the finish line :) Love you.
Well looks like we are reversing roles. I'll definitely be praying for that expensive exam on sunday, that you pass it with flying colors, which I'm sure you will because you're a genius of course. Keep having fun in red deer, just don't hit one cause it sucks.
Jen! That sounds fantastic! how great to be somewhere where you are learning, but also enjoying yourself. You'll do great on your exam too, you cute little brainiac.
GOOD LUCK TOMORROW! PRAYING FOR YOU LOTS!! YOU'RE ALMOST THERE :)
