CAUGHT IN A SANDSTORM

I thought I would be smart today and try to get home from school before dinner time so I wouldn't be starving by the time I walked in the door. So, I left Corbett as early as I could, hopped on my first bus and stood in a crowd of people for 20 minutes until I could get off at my first stop. The first indication that I wasn't going to get home as fast as I thought was the 20 minute bus ride which normally takes 10 minutes. Oh-and I decided to take my heaviest textbook to class today so there I am, weighed down with this ridiculous wide load on my back, all the while trying to stay out of people's way as they got off and on the bus. Then as I stood, waiting, shoulders aching, for my transfer, I had this sinking feeling my bus was not coming anytime soon. Instead of listening to my gut feeling and beginning the 2km trek home, I decided to wait. After 15 mintues of waiting, I was getting hungry and tired of wasting time so I started walking home, backpack getting heavier by the minute. About halfway home, the wind picked up and carried with it all the gravel left on the roads and proceeded to pummel me. It actually kind of hurt :) I did learn a lesson though: figure out the bus schedule so I quit missing my transfer or getting there so early :)
