I didn't expect it.
Saturday was a gorgeous day. An absolutely perfect day to end summer. I treated myself to a scoop of ice cream from the local ice cream shoppe down the road, sat on the front porch of "my" house (in Red Deer) enjoying the sunshine while reading a book (or rather, quickly skimming for important pieces of the story--it's the way I've learned to manage my time in school when there is a million and one things to read). I even got a bit of a tan sitting out in the sun. Perfect.
It was overcast today. And it rained off and on. I didn't know the weather would change so suddenly. I don't listen to the weather forcast so I didn't expect it. I know rain is necessary. It gives life. It washes away the dust and dirt and leaves behind droplets of water that glisten when the sun re-appears. The rain makes everything smell fresh. Often, rain is accompanied by wind. A soft wind...sometimes a strong, gushing wind. Wind that touches every part of you and is sensed by every fiber of your being.
Okay. So I'm not entirely talking about the weather. I guess when it rained today and I felt the wind, I thought it was a pretty good analogy of my life as of late. Unexpectedly, the rain came. And sitting in the midst of the rain right now I'm beginning to see some things clearer. Some of the dust is blowing away...the wind is affecting every part of me. And it's making me look deep to find out where it's coming from. Being in the midst of it makes it hard to explain much. It's all a bit of a jumble right now. So I guess this is all I have to say for now.
I don't always love the rain. But there are times-when it hasn't rained for awhile-that the rain is necessary. It's cleansing.

Praying this time of "rain" will be healing for your soul. I love you.
Hope it's not raining too hard over there and that you're still enjoying your time in Red Deer. So I went to Abby Traditional School today to observe and one of the teachers I observed was Chad Radons (I think that's his last name), Jenna's Chad. So that was pretty random, he's teaching grade 8 math and science there and had the kids doing push-ups when they weren't doing what they were supposed. It was pretty sweet. Just thought I'd tell you that. Have a great rest of the week.
